An impact between a truck and a car claimed one woman’s life and badly injured two other women on Friday night in northern Bakersfield. KGET-TV reports the accident happened on the Olive Drive overpass at Highway 99 on August 13, 2021.
The California Highway Patrol says that a pickup truck was traveling westbound at around 9:30 p.m. when for an unknown reason, the young female driver crossed the center divider and ran head-on into a Crown Victoria sedan.
Two elderly women were in the Crown Victoria. The driver was killed in the collision and the passenger was rushed to the hospital with major injuries. The driver of the truck was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office has not released the identity of the woman who lost her life. CHP investigators continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
