Avenue 15 Accidents Involving Head-On Collisions in Madera County

Long, straight two-lane roads require drivers to monitor the traffic in their lane in front and behind them at all times. Unfortunately, it can be harder to anticipate the actions of motorists in the oncoming lane.

Drivers can lose control of their vehicles and quickly be in the opposite lanes of traffic. These small mistakes can result in a head-on collision and cause some of the most devastating consequences seen with any angle of collision.

Head-on collisions double the force of impact placed on vehicles because the speeds of both cars involved are combined during the crash. Victims in these frightening accidents can suffer severe injuries and in the worst cases lose their lives.

Head-On Collision Claims One Life in Madera County

A collision between two vehicles claimed one life and left one man with major injuries on Tuesday night in Madera County. The Fresno Bee reports the tragic accident took place around 9:15 p.m. on Avenue 15 east of Madera on July 27, 2021.

The California Highway Patrol says that a woman in her 20s was at the wheel of a Hyundai car when she collided head-on with a Chevy pickup truck east of Road 29. The woman died at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the pickup, a 41-year-old man from Madera, suffered major injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno. His condition has not been released.

California Highway Patrol Officers continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.

Finding Assistance for Victims and Their Families After an Accident

For surviving victims of terrible accidents, the road to recovery can be long and painful. Medical care and rehabilitation can also run in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

To protect the financial stability of victims and their families, victims can file a claim for damages with the at-fault driver’s car insurance policy. This claim would ask for help during recovery with hospital bills and replacing lost wages while the victim is out of work.

For families who have lost a loved one in a tragic highway accident, a wrongful death claim may be necessary to hold the insurance provider of the at-fault driver accountable. A spouse, domestic partner, children, or parents of the victim, can ask for assistance with ambulance fees, and memorial service and burial costs. The lost financial support the victim would have continued to provide the family down the road can also factor into the amount of support a family should request.
