A man on a motorcycle lost his life after colliding with an SUV early Wednesday morning. KGET-TV reports the accident happened around 5 a.m. along Edison Highway near Sterling Road on June 16, 2021.
The California Highway Patrol says the driver of a Ford SUV was pulling onto Edison Highway from a driveway and ended up directly in the path of an approaching motorcyclist traveling eastbound. The motorcycle struck the left front end of the SUV. The rider was wearing a helmet at the time.
The motorcyclist, a 38-year-old man, suffered severe injuries and was rushed to Kern Medical for care. He passed away while there. The driver of the SUV was not injured. The crash remains under investigation by CHP investigators.
