Dangerous Rollover Accidents On I-5 In Kern County

Traffic collisions occur across Kern County every day. Fortunately, most impacts result in minor fender-benders and perhaps some scrapes and bruises. However, some accidents involve much more serious impacts. Rollover accidents can produce some of the most devastating damage and injuries seen in car crashes.

A rollover accident can leave victims with traumatic injuries that could require emergency treatment at a Level 1 Trauma Center. These impacts can also end up claiming precious lives and robbing families and friends of loved ones.

Two People Killed in a Vehicle Rollover Accident in Kern County

A tragic accident claimed two lives and badly injured another victim Wednesday morning in western Kern County. FOX58-TV reported the accident occurred around 11 a.m. west of Bakersfield along Interstate 5 near the interchange of State Route 43 on June 23, 2021.

The California Highway Patrol says they found a vehicle had overturned and crashed into the center divider. Two people inside that vehicle lost their lives in the rollover crash. The victims were identified as a 51-year-old man from Modesto and a 44-year-old man from Stockton.

Another vehicle was involved in the accident and someone in that vehicle suffered major injuries and was taken to the hospital. Highway Patrol investigators are still determining what might have led to the terrible crash.

Finding Support for Kern County Victims and Families After an Accident

Families can be robbed of the care and support of a loved one in a heartbreaking traffic accident. They can also get handed a string of expensive bills while they are still coping with a tragedy. These costs can include the price of a funeral service and burial. The enormous fees for ambulance care and emergency response can also be allowed to target close relatives at such a vulnerable time.

California offers protection for victimized families by allowing them to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the car insurance company representing the at-fault driver. This claim will seek to protect the family of the victim from financial hardships. The loss of the deceased’s income provided to the family through employment can also factor into any settlement reached.

For victims recovering from severe injuries, a claim for damages can be filed against the responsible driver’s insurance policy. This civil claim can provide money to pay for medical care received and any care expected to be needed in the future. The lost wages suffered while a victim has been out of work can also be sought to help pay for normal monthly costs like car payments and rent.
