Liability in Motorcycle Accidents Along Hwy 99 in Kern County

Motorcyclists who travel the long straightaways of Kern County have the same right to the highway as any other motorist. Sadly, drivers can get distracted or fail to take a long enough look out a window and allow themselves to miss seeing someone on a motorcycle. This inattention can quickly put a rider in a dangerous predicament.

The San Gabriel Valley Tribune detailed the shocking rise in motorcycle accidents seen in California in the past few years.  They found that fatalities in motorcycle-involved accidents have doubled since 1997 in our state. The upcoming summer months only make the problem worse and July often sees more motorcycle accidents than another other time of the year.

This documented rise in cases only shows how much more care all drivers need to take when traveling alongside anyone on two-wheels.

Support for Families After Kern County Motorcycle Accidents

After a family receives word of a loved one lost in a tragic accident, they should be allowed time to mourn their loss. Sadly, with medical bills, ambulance fees, and funeral costs all quickly coming due, families are forced to guard their financial wellbeing almost immediately.

Close relatives should never be stuck with the expenses from an accident that wasn’t their fault or the victim’s fault. After such a tragedy, a spouse, domestic partner, or another close relative can file a wrongful death claim on behalf of the family.

This civil claim can demand assistance with current hardships and also ask to provide for the family’s future. It’s important to make it clear to insurance agents that due to such a tragic accident the family is now forced to live the rest of their lives without the guidance and financial support the deceased victim had always provided.
