Pedestrians in Turlock can do everything they can to stay out of the way of cars, but it only takes one careless or distracted driver to cause an unavoidable tragedy. Turlock has crosswalks set up to help pedestrians, but often those on foot are asked to cross five and six lanes of traffic in just a manner of seconds while passing in front of drivers barely paying attention.
Turlock emergency officials see the price pedestrians pay on unsafe streets every year. Across 2019 30 collisions involving pedestrians were recorded in Turlock. Those accidents tragically claimed three lives and left another 28 people on foot injured.
Across all of Stanislaus County, almost 200 accidents involving pedestrians were responded to in 2019 resulting in another 16 victims losing their lives.

Finding Assistance for Families After Turlock Pedestrian Accidents
Families can reach their lowest point as word reaches them that a loved one had been lost in an accident. Close relatives will be robbed of the years of love and support the deceased would have provided over his or her lifetime.
If the accident was the fault of a careless driver, at least some justice can be found through the filing of a wrongful death claim against the driver’s insurance policy. This claim is often filed by a spouse or domestic partner or children of the deceased on behalf of the rest of the family. In some cases, the parents of the victim can also carry a wrongful death lawsuit forward.
A wrongful death claim is intended to help protect a family from the extreme expenses that can target loved ones after someone else’s mistake. A successful claim can provide support to help pay for funeral expenses and hospital and ambulance fees. A claim can also help stabilize a family in the years to come as they must cope without the guidance and financial support the victim can no longer contribute.
