Getting an Accident Record After A San Joaquin Collision
Your legal representative, if you have chosen one, will be working to get your accident report for you. In some cases, your insurance provider may also be working to get the report.
If you do have an accident in San Joaquin or Fresno County and the Sheriff’s Department investigated your crash you can request an accident report in three ways:
- Email — firstname.lastname@example.org
- Fax – (559) 488-1899
- Or in person — at 2200 Fresno Street, Fresno, California 93721
You can call (559) 600-8400 if you have more questions. You may have to wait up to 10 days before you get a response. You’ll need to include a copy of a picture ID if you aren’t going in person. Copies of a report are 10 cents a page.
If a California Highway Patrol Officer investigates your accident you’ll have to go to the California Highway Patrol website to request a report. You’ll find a request form to print out there.
Remember to attach a photocopy of your state driver’s license or identification card to verify you are the proper party of interest.
Do I need a lawyer after a San Joaquin accident?
For minor accidents involving only property damage you usually won’t need to have an attorney to get your car repaired or replaced.
If you or a loved one suffered a more serious injury from an accident that wasn’t your fault, you should contact an experienced, local attorney such as Martin Gasparian for a free consultation on the circumstances of your case. Mr. Gasparian can make sure your immediate needs are met and also make sure any medical care you may need in the months to come is provided for in any settlement.
