Merced can be a scary place for pedestrians who may have to face traffic multiple times while walking to their destination. Crosswalks can leave people without enough time to navigate five lanes of traffic before the walk sign changes, adding to the constant risk pedestrians must take their chances with.
Distracted drivers glancing at their phones or reckless drivers going too fast to be able to react to a pedestrian crossing the street in front of them can provide extreme hazards. The consequences for a defenseless pedestrian can be a severe injury and a long recovery.

Help for the Victims of Merced Pedestrian Collisions
A pedestrian accident can leave victims confused and frightened about what lies ahead for them. A serious injury can require multiple surgeries, months of physical rehabilitation, and even leave behind a permanent disability. This care will cost more than the average person could ever pay and those bills will come as the victim loses valuable time and money at work as they heal.
In these tough situations, pedestrian victims can seek to get help with their financial burdens by filing a claim for damages. This claim is filed with the at-fault driver’s insurance company and it details every hardship victims have had to endure from the moment of the accident.
An attorney working to protect your rights will understand the extreme physical and emotional trauma you’ve been through and be able to communicate those obstacles to insurance agents to make sure they are factored into a settlement offer. A legal expert will also be able to document other things that you’ve been through that can earn compensation that you might not have thought of.
