Accidents Involving Head-On Collisions On Hwy 180 In Fresno County

Fresno County has many two-lane highways with little separating the rush of vehicles other than a yellow line. This can be extremely dangerous when the slightest issue or mistake can send a vehicle into oncoming traffic for a scary collision.

Head-on collisions are thankfully rare but when they do occur they put victims at higher risk of some of the worst consequences possible in accidents. Fresno County first responders record the frightening results of these accidents every year. In 2019 Fresno County saw 106 total collisions involving a head-on collision. Those tragic accidents claimed 17 lives and left almost 200 more victims suffering injuries.

Support for Families After Head-On Accidents in Fresno County

Families who have lost loved ones in accidents can wonder how to ever find justice for such a tragedy. A beloved family member has been taken away through no fault of their own.

In these difficult cases, a family is allowed to file a wrongful death claim against an at-fault driver’s insurance provider. The insurance provider likely won’t alert the family to this option, but a wrongful death claim can protect a grieving family from the immediate costs arising from a terrible accident and provide for the family in the years to come.

A spouse and children may face the costs of a funeral, ambulance fees, and estate settlement all while still trying to cope with the trauma of the loss. The loved one’s financial and emotional support that will no longer be available to the family in the years to come can also be factored into compensation.

An at-fault driver may have never intended to cause such a terrible tragedy, but his or her insurance coverage can still be called upon to help a grieving family avoid financial hardship.
