Support for Fresno DUI Accident Victims

An accident caused by an impaired driver can come as a complete shock to victims because a DUI driver’s moves can be impossible to predict. Safe drivers can suddenly find themselves with a severe injury and confused about what happens next.

Drivers may not have been responsible for their accident, but will they have to lose all of their savings other possessions to pay for the high cost of medical treatment? The answer is that the at-fault driver should pay for every cost of recovery, but sometimes it’s necessary to fight for what seems like common sense.

Victims in DUI involved accidents can file a civil lawsuit over their injuries to be sure no cost gets left in their laps. DUI drivers will have insurance policies that cover victims in case of an accident, but that insurance company will try everything they can to pay victims as little as possible.

The compensation may not even be enough to cover the ambulance fees and emergency room costs coming out of the night of the accident. That doesn’t even count the physical therapy and potential need for surgery down the road. Forfeited paychecks at work, while the victim has missed hours, can also be overlooked. An attorney fighting to protect a victim’s rights can make sure no cost or hardship can be overlooked by an insurance adjuster.
