Stanislaus County Deadly Collisions

Intersections can prove hazardous for drivers at any time of day, but after dark can be especially dangerous when un-lit 4-way stops are involved. Safe motorists have to trust that other drivers approaching an intersection know the laws pertaining to a 4-way stop and must also trust that the driver will obey those laws.

Unfortunately, a distracted or careless driver may ignore the right-of-way and make a reckless move that puts themselves and everyone else in the intersection at risk. The heartbreaking aftermath can leave victims with severe injuries and even cost lives.

One person was killed in a tragic collision late Saturday Night in Stanislaus County northeast of Modesto. KCRA3-TV reported the crash happened at the intersection of Claribel and Langworth roads around 10:15 p.m. on December 5, 2020.

The Modesto Fire Department says the accident involved two vehicles. When crews arrived they found one person pinned inside a vehicle. One victim was declared dead on the scene. Six other people were taken to the hospital with injuries.

The California Highway Patrol is working to determine the cause of the accident.

Compensation for Stanislaus County Accident Victims

A driver’s mistake can leave victims facing a long, difficult recovery. A careless act on the road can also leave a family to grieve the loss of a loved one.

Families in these tragic circumstances can be left to cope with their grief while seeing hospital and funeral costs come due. The economic burden after an accident can be overwhelming and can leave a family at risk of bankruptcy. At this same time, they may also be dealing with the loss of the financial support the victim provided through his or her job.

In these cases, a family is permitted to file a wrongful death claim against at-fault drivers to get help from their insurance companies for the financial burdens now and the burdens that will arise in the future.

For surviving victims of accidents, it may be necessary to file a claim for damages against the at-fault driver to get help with hospital bills and physical therapy costs. The compensation can also include reimbursement for the victim’s lost wages at work.

This civil lawsuit can even be filed if you were in the car of the at-fault driver as a passenger. You may feel unsure about filing against someone you know, but that’s what insurance policies are for. Coverage is meant to help victims recover and get their lives back to normal. The driver wouldn’t usually be directly targeted in the claim, it would be the insurance company that would be responsible.
