Modesto Head-On Collisions

Any impact between vehicles can cause serious consequences, but a head-on collision can lead to some of the most devastating injuries. A front-end accident can factor in the speeds of both vehicles to double the brute force involved in a crash. Both cars bring their inertia into the crash and the impact can be the equivalent of hitting a wall.

Stanislaus County sees the frightening effects of these types of collisions every year. In 2019, the county saw 212 accidents involving a head-on impact. Those collisions led to eight tragic fatalities and left 386 people injured.

Modesto Woman Injured in Head-On Crash

A woman was seriously injured in a collision Monday evening in south Modesto. The Modesto Bee reported the accident happened on Winmoore Way near Crows Landing Road around 6:45 p.m. November 2, 2020.

Modesto Police say the 67-year-old Modesto woman was driving westbound in a Buick Rendezvous when she collided head-on with a 27-year-old man from Modesto driving a Hummer. The woman had to be extracted from the Buick by the Modesto Fire Department. She suffered critical injuries. The driver and a passenger in the Hummer escaped injury.

Investigators aren’t sure what caused the accident. They do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

Help for Head-On Accident Victims In Modesto

A head-on collision can leave victims in the hospital for weeks or months as they attempt to heal and get back to their normal lives. They may face an uphill battle even as they recover as hospital bills pile-up and they realize how much time they’ve missed at work.

These situations can leave victims feeling alone as they deal with physical and financial hardships after an accident. It may be necessary to file a claim for damages against the driver who was responsible for the crash.

This lawsuit would make sure the driver’s insurance coverage reimburses every cost of recovery a victim has endured and can also provide for losses expected in the future. These expected losses can include continued physical therapy and medical equipment needed in the years to come. The paychecks the victim may lose by having to miss work in the months to come should also be reimbursed.
