Turlock Deadly Pick-Up Accidents At Intersections

Intersections can be extremely hazardous places for drivers, especially when other motorists don’t obey stop signs and traffic lights.

When vehicles are forced to come to a stop that generally ensures any collisions around intersections will be a low-speed impact with less damage and less chance for injuries. But when motorists fail to stop for a red light or a stop sign, the speeds involved can be much greater and bring increased risk for injury and even the loss of life.

Deadly Pick-Up Accident at Turlock Intersection

A crash at a Turlock intersection involving two trucks over the weekend killed one driver. The Turlock Journal reported the collision happened at Crows Landing Road and Linwood Avenue Saturday morning on August 29, 2020.

The California Highway Patrol says the driver of a Toyota Tacoma did not stop for a stop sign on Linwood Avenue and struck a Chevrolet Silverado going an estimated 45 to 50 miles per hour. The front of the Chevy struck the side of the Toyota and sent both vehicles spinning.

The driver of the Tacoma, a 37-year-old Turlock man, was pronounced dead at the scene. A man and a woman in the Silverado were transported to the hospital with injuries. Investigators don’t believe drugs or alcohol played a part in the accident.

Finding Help After an Intersection Accident in Turlock

Accidents at intersections can come out of nowhere. Drivers can proceed through an intersection trusting that another driver will obey a stop sign and suddenly have a vehicle in front of them. There’s little time to react at that point and a frightening impact can result. The injuries suffered in these crashes can be severe.

Recovery may be long and challenging.  Victims in an accident may not be to blame for the collision and yet they may soon face the resulting medical bills. They may also be forced to miss time at work due to their injuries. It’s a terrible cycle of bills coming in and yet not having a paycheck to try to pay them.

A claim for damages against the at-fault driver’s insurance may be the only option for victims to get help with their losses. This civil lawsuit can recover more than just money for hospital bills. A successful claim can compensate victims for their lost wages at work and any expected missed time from work in the future.  Compensation can be made for physical pain suffered after an accident and in the future, that can also include anguish from emotional pain as well.  A claim can ensure that when you need therapy or rehabilitation for your injuries in the future, the expenses will be covered.
