Multi-Car Accidents in Fresno

Cars and SUVs seem to travel faster and faster around Central Valley each year. A speeding driver can make all of the efforts of safe drivers disappear in an instant. A driver is more likely to lose control at extreme speeds and that can put any other drivers, even those in the opposite lanes at high risk.

In one year, the California Highway Patrol reported 1,851 accidents that involved a vehicle crossing over into the opposing lane. These accidents led to 209 deaths.

About half of those reported accidents resulted in head-on collisions.  These collisions prove to be the most dangerous for motorists.  Both cars bring their speeds into the crash, multiplying the impact force. The injuries are often that much more severe.

Six Car Pile-up on Blackstone Avenue in Fresno

Five people were injured after a six-car collision in North Fresno on Thursday morning. ABC30-TV reported the accident happened on Blackstone Avenue near Herndon Avenue around 9 am on August 13, 2020.

Fresno Police believe a Chevy Tahoe was speeding when it crossed the median, took down three trees, and traveled into oncoming traffic and struck four vehicles head-on. The Tahoe then struck a fifth vehicle down the road.

Two people in the Tahoe were pinned in the vehicle for a time.  In all, five people were transported to the hospital.

Compensation for Victims in a Car Accident

After a devastating accident, victims can find themselves with serious injuries and facing an expensive recovery.  Hospital and other medical bills will arrive when the victim is often unable to attend work and make money to help with the financial burden.

In these tragic situations, filing a claim for damages against the at-fault driver may be the only option to get assistance with the costs of recovery.  In the case of a multi-car accident, there may be several drivers who could be held liable in the crash.

Keep in mind, in California, accident victims are allowed up to two years from the date of the accident to file an accident claim against the at-fault drivers and their insurance companies.  It is not recommended to wait the full two years to make your claim. The more time that passes after an accident, the more difficult it will be to collect evidence, gather documents and locate witnesses.

A Central Valley car accident attorney can help the victim sort out these details. An attorney can also help determine who should be held accountable in a lawsuit to get the proper compensation for the hardships experienced after an accident.
