Salinas, CA — In the late evening of Wednesday, November 4, 2026, a pedestrian lost his life after being struck by a vehicle, according to KSBW.
Shortly after 11:00 PM, emergency responders arrived at the accident site on Natividad Road, south of Chaparral Street, near Natividad Medical Center.
Investigators determined that the pedestrian, described as a 46-year-old man, had been struck by a Toyota RAV4 and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver involved in the fatal crash, described as a 39-year-old man, cooperated with authorities. He reportedly informed investigators that he did not initially realize he had struck a person, and so left the scene but returned after recognizing the damage done to his vehicle.
Driver intoxication is not believed to have played a role in the accident.
