Monterey County, CA — On the night of Wednesday, October 28, 2026, a head-on crash killed the two drivers and injured three others, according to KSBW, with additional details from King City Rustler.
The two drivers who lost their lives have been identified by the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office as 39-year-old Sean McArthur of Lockwood and 58-year-old Armin Salehpour of Los Angeles.
At approximately 8:38 PM, the King City office of the California Highway Patrol responded to reports of an accident involving two vehicles on Jolon Road south of Heinsen Road in the Hames Valley east of Williams Hill.
Officers arriving at the scene found a Honda sedan and a Ford, both with major front-end damage. The five people involved in the crash had all sustained serious injuries, some of which proved fatal.
According to investigators, the Honda had been traveling southbound on Jolon Road at a high rate of speed. For reasons not yet determined, the driver appeared to lose control of the vehicle and veer into oncoming traffic. It and the Ford collided head-on.
The driver of the Honda was found to have been partially ejected from his vehicle. Emergency responders declared him dead at the scene. The Ford driver received transportation to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas. However, despite the lifesaving efforts of medical professionals, he succumbed to his wounds.
Driver intoxication is believed to have possibly played a role in this deadly accident. This is an ongoing investigation.
