Fresno, CA — On the morning of Monday, October 26, 2026, a man identified as Vincent Menchaca, 32, of Fresno, lost his life in a pedestrian collision, according to KSEE/KGPE, with additional details from FOX26.
At approximately 7:09 AM, the California Highway Patrol first received word of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle on westbound Highway 180 near Highway 41, a busy highway interchange in southeast Fresno.
Emergency responders found Menchaca on the side of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Based on initial investigations, Menchaca was crossing the westbound lanes of 180 when he was struck by a GMC Terrain. The driver involved in the collision stayed at the crash site and cooperated with authorities.
It is not believed that drugs or alcohol played a role in this fatal collision.
Menchaca’s family has announced that on Saturday, October 31, they will be holding a salsa sale as a fundraiser to lay him to rest. Both mild red and spicy green salsa are available at $10 for 16 oz. and $18 for 32 oz.
