Sacramento, CA – On the evening of Friday, September 11, 2026, a pedestrian collision resulted in the death of Tyana Jones, 15, according to KCRA.
The Sacramento Police Department reports that the accident took place just after 6:00 PM at Bruceville and Calvine Roads, an intersection in a suburban area of south Sacramento.
Authorities said officers responded to reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian and found Jones down on the roadway. She was transported to a hospital, where she died from her injuries on Sunday, September 13.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. DUI does not appear to have been a factor, and police did not directly answer whether speed played a role, saying the investigation remains ongoing. As of Friday, September 25, no one had been cited or arrested.
Jones’ family said she was on her way to a football game when she was struck. Her mother spoke with her just after 4:30 PM that day.
