September 4, 2026, Merced, CA: A man tragically lost his life in an e-scooter accident that took place at a Merced intersection on Friday afternoon.
According to Your Central Valley, the collision happened at 2 p.m. at the intersection of 21st Street and G Street. Police confirmed that an older man was riding his e-scooter in the area when he was suddenly struck by the driver of a passenger vehicle.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The 70-year-old man was severely injured in the accident. Even though first responders tried CPR, he tragically passed away at the scene. Nobody else was injured in the accident.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the collision continues at this time.
