Sacramento, CA – On the evening of Monday, August 31, 2026, a man was struck and killed by a train in Sacramento County, according to KCRA and CHP Fatal.
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District crews and local law enforcement responded around 8:42 PM to reports of a train collision involving a pedestrian at the railroad crossing near Calvine Road, Ardith Drive, and Hardester Drive.
Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene and pronounced the man dead. Investigators determined that the impact occurred along the tracks approximately 100 yards north of Calvine Road. Law enforcement officers and railroad investigators temporarily secured the surrounding area and redirected traffic along Calvine Road near Vintage Park Drive to conduct an on-site investigation. Officers reopened the lanes around 9:19 PM.
