Kingsburg, CA – On the afternoon of Sunday, August 23, 2026, a suspected DUI collision left two people injured on Highway 99, according to ABC30.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 2:30 PM on northbound Highway 99 just before the Bethel Avenue exit.
Authorities said a man driving a white Mitsubishi was allegedly driving recklessly in the fast lane and veered to the right, rear-ending a Honda Pilot. As a result of the impact, the Honda lost control, overturned off the highway, and landed on its driver’s side. Both occupants of the Honda were able to exit the vehicle and were transported to the hospital with minor injuries, and are expected to recover.
The driver of the Mitsubishi stopped in the center divider and exited his vehicle. He was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The investigation remains ongoing.
