Pedestrian Injured in Hit-and-Run near Hillcrest Ave, Larkspur in Antioch

Antioch, CA – On the evening of Friday, August 21, 2026, a pedestrian hit-and-run left a woman in critical condition near Hillcrest Avenue and Larkspur, according to KRON.

The Antioch Police Department reports that the accident took place around 10:30 PM.

Authorities said the driver came off the freeway traveling eastbound through the lanes and ran a red light while the woman, believed to be approximately 24 years old, was walking southbound inside the crosswalk. As a result of the impact, she sustained critical injuries. The driver fled the scene before officers arrived.

Police are still working to identify the suspect. The investigation remains ongoing.
