August 2, 2026, Hanford, CA: One person was killed in a fatal accident that took place on a major roadway in Hanford on Sunday afternoon.
According to Visalia Stringer, the accident happened at 3:03 p.m. on State Route 198 near 7th Avenue. Police confirmed that a man with three adult passengers was driving a Toyota Tacoma headed westbound on the roadway. At the same time, an adult male was driving a Honda Civic headed eastbound and an adult male in a Toyota Corolla was in the lane next to the Civic.
The driver of the Tacoma and the Civic collided head-on with each other due to reasons that are still being investigated. The force of the impact caused the Civic to strike the Corolla, which led to the Corolla overturning in a field off the side of the road.
The driver of the Tacoma, as well as his passengers, were all hospitalized. The driver of the Corolla and his passenger were also hospitalized. The driver of the Civic, however, was tragically pronounced dead due to their injuries on the way to the hospital.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
