Vallejo, CA – On the evening of Saturday, July 4, 2026, a hit-and-run in a parking lot left a woman in critical condition and led to the arrest of Alejandro Rodriguez-Zetina, 20, of Vallejo, according to KRON.
The Vallejo Police Department reports that the accident took place around 10:40 PM in the 400 block of Santa Clara Street.
Authorities said the woman was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot, and the driver fled before officers arrived. Officers and emergency medical personnel administered aid at the scene before she was transported to a hospital, where she remained in critical condition at the time of reporting.
The Vallejo Police Department Traffic Division conducted a follow-up investigation through witness interviews and video evidence, identifying Rodriguez-Zetina as the suspected driver. He was located and arrested by patrol officers on Sunday, July 5.
Rodriguez-Zetina was charged with felony hit-and-run causing injury, reckless driving, and engaging in an exhibition of speed resulting in bodily injury. Alcohol and controlled substances do not appear to have been factors in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
