Suspected DUI Crash with Big Rig at Walerga, Elverta Rd Injures 1 in Antelope, Sacramento County

Sacramento County, CA – In the early hours of Thursday, July 9, 2026, a suspected DUI collision between a pickup truck and a big rig left one person with injuries and led to the arrest of the pickup truck driver in Antelope, according to FOX40.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 4:36 AM at the intersection of Walerga and Elverta Roads.

Authorities said the pickup truck collided with the big rig, causing it to jackknife and block lanes on Walerga Road. The driver of the pickup truck was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. 

The driver of the big rig sustained injuries but was expected to recover. A tow truck was on scene working to remove the big rig from the roadway.

No additional details regarding the identities of those involved had been released at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.
