Sacramento, CA – On the morning of Wednesday, May 27, 2026, a collision with a vehicle resulted in a pedestrian losing his life in south Sacramento, according to ABC10.
The Sacramento Police Department reports that the accident took place just before 4:00 AM in the 5500 block of Stockton Boulevard.
Authorities said first responders provided life-saving measures at the scene, but the man was pronounced dead. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Driving under the influence does not appear to have been a factor in the crash.
Stockton Boulevard was closed between Fruitridge Road and Lawrence Drive during the investigation before being reopened. The Sacramento Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit has taken over the investigation.

Pedestrian Fatalities and Wrongful Death Claims
Drivers have a duty of care towards pedestrians, which includes being vigilant for those travelling by foot and, if a collision occurs, staying with the victim, alerting emergency responders, and cooperating with authorities investigating the crash.
For those who lose a loved one in a pedestrian accident, filing a wrongful death claim with the assistance of an experienced attorney can provide compensation for medical bills, funeral costs, and other related damages.
