Grass Valley, CA – On the evening of Wednesday, May 13, 2026, a child was left with critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle, according to FOX40.
The Grass Valley Police Department reports that the accident took place around 6:40 PM in the 600 block of Whiting Street.
Authorities said a vehicle struck a child who was riding a bicycle for reasons not yet determined. The juvenile sustained major injuries and was airlifted to a Sacramento Valley trauma center, where they remained in critical condition at the time of reporting.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Neither alcohol nor drugs is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
