Sacramento County, CA – On the evening of Thursday, May 7, 2026, a collision resulted in a pedestrian losing their life, according to KCRA, with additional reporting from CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 10:08 PM near Power Inn Road and Judette Avenue.
Authorities said a white Toyota Corolla struck a pedestrian in the northbound lane before pulling over to the right shoulder with hazard lights activated. Fire department units responded and arrived on scene, and the coroner was subsequently notified. A Sacramento County chaplain was also requested to respond to assist those affected at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. An evidence tow was requested for the Toyota Corolla, which was transported to the evidence tow yard following the conclusion of on-scene proceedings. Investigators have not determined whether alcohol was a contributing factor in the collision.
The identity of the deceased had not been released at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.
