Kings County, CA – On the evening of Saturday, March 14, 2026, a collision between a Toyota Camry and a Polaris ATV resulted in one fatality and injuries to eight others outside of Hanford, according to the Fresno Bee.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 8:23 PM on Dover Avenue west of State Route 43.
Authorities said a woman was driving a 2020 Polaris Ranger eastbound on Dover Avenue with five passengers when a woman driving a 2019 Toyota Camry with two passengers approached from the rear of the Polaris. For reasons that remain under investigation, the driver of the Polaris began to turn left as the Toyota was in the process of passing. The left side of the Polaris and the front right of the Toyota Camry collided as a result.
The driver of the Polaris sustained fatal injuries. Two of the Polaris occupants were ejected during the collision. The five adult passengers in the Polaris sustained injuries ranging from moderate in severity, with one transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno and another taken to Adventist Medical Center in Hanford for treatment. The driver and two passengers of the Toyota Camry also sustained injuries and were treated by emergency personnel at the scene.
The identities of those involved had not been released at the time of reporting. Authorities said drugs and alcohol are suspected to be contributing factors in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
