Palo Alto, CA – On the morning of Friday, January 30, 2026, a pedestrian collision left a jogger fatally injured near the intersection of Oregon Avenue and Saint Francis Drive, according to NBC Bay Area News

Palo Alto police report that the crash occurred just before 7:30 AM as the deceased, described as a woman in her 50s, was jogging westbound through a marked crosswalk. A vehicle traveling eastbound on Oregon Avenue was making a left turn onto Saint Francis Drive when it struck her.

The woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment following the collision. Police said she later died from her injuries on Sunday.

Investigators said the driver, who is in their 30s, remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Police noted that alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to have been factors in the crash.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation by Palo Alto police.
