Fresno, CA – A 3-year-old child was hospitalized with head injuries and a broken arm on the afternoon of Thursday, January 29, 2026, after being struck by a construction truck in a residential area of Fresno, according to The Fresno Bee.
The Fresno Police Department reported that the collision occurred just before 3:00 PM near the intersection of Plumas and Stanislaus streets, close to Fresno Chandler Executive Airport. Authorities said the incident took place in the backyard of a home while a construction worker was backing up and repositioning a truck.
Investigators stated that the driver was unaware the child was outside at the time of the incident. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated fully with responding officers.
Emergency responders transported the child to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. Police said the child suffered head injuries and a broken arm but was listed in stable condition as of Thursday.
No arrests were reported. The incident remains under investigation as officers continue to review the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Personal Injury Claims
After a traffic accident, victims and their families often deal with unexpected financial burdens, such as medical bills, lost income, and, in the worst cases, burial costs. A Personal Injury Claim allows accident victims to hold the at-fault party financially responsible for their cost of care.
