Pedestrian Crash at Cleveland Ave, High St Injures Woman, Infant in Auburn

Auburn, CA – On the afternoon of Wednesday, January 28, 2026, a 60-year-old woman and an infant were hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle, according to FOX40.

The Auburn Police Department reported that the collision occurred around 4:00 PM at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and High Street. Police stated that the woman was pushing a stroller containing an infant through the crosswalk when a vehicle making a left turn on a green light struck them.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene and provided immediate medical assistance. Due to the nature of the collision and the involvement of an infant, both victims were transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment. The extent and severity of their injuries have not been released.

APD indicated that the driver was traveling under the posted speed limit at the time of the crash and remained at the scene to cooperate fully with law enforcement. Investigators noted that sun glare may have been a contributing factor.

The roadway was temporarily closed for several hours to allow officers to document the scene and conduct an investigation. The investigation remains ongoing.
