Santa Rosa, CA – On the morning of Friday, December 26, 2025, a vehicle versus e-scooter collision resulted in fatal injuries to a 61-year-old Rohnert Park resident, according to KRON.

The Santa Rosa Police Department reports that the accident took place around 8:11 AM at the intersection of Santa Rosa Avenue and El Portal Drive.

Authorities stated that officers and Santa Rosa Fire Department personnel responded to reports of a crash with injuries and located the e-scooter rider deceased at the scene.

Investigators determined that a Chevrolet Tahoe had been making a southbound left turn onto Santa Rosa Avenue from a parking lot when it struck the e-scooter, which was traveling northbound. Police indicated that the driver of the SUV, a 30-year-old Santa Rosa resident, told investigators they did not see the e-scooter prior to the collision.

Officials reported that the driver stopped immediately following the crash, contacted emergency services, remained at the scene, and is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation. No injuries to the driver were reported.

Authorities stated that the victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, in accordance with standard procedure. Santa Rosa Avenue at El Portal Drive was temporarily closed during the investigation and has since reopened as investigators continue to review the circumstances of the collision.
