Fresno County, CA – On the morning of Wednesday, December 17, 2025, a two-vehicle collision resulted in fatal injuries to a 2-year-old girl and a 28-year-old woman and minor injuries to two teenagers after a violent crash at a rural intersection, according to KSEE, with additional reporting from CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 10:00 AM at the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Jefferson Avenue outside the community of Easton.
Authorities said officers arrived to find a Honda Civic and a Chevrolet Tahoe that had collided in the intersection, with both vehicles coming to rest off the roadway. Investigators determined that the Honda Civic was traveling northbound on Walnut Avenue while the Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling eastbound on Jefferson Avenue at the time of the crash.
CHP stated that the driver of the Honda Civic appeared to have failed to stop at a posted stop sign and entered the path of the Chevrolet Tahoe, leading to what authorities described as a violent impact. The collision caused the Honda Civic to sustain severe damage, and a toddler passenger was partially ejected from the vehicle.
The 28-year-old woman driving the Honda Civic was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities. The 2-year-old girl was transported to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The Chevrolet Tahoe was occupied by a 17-year-old driver and a 16-year-old passenger. Authorities reported that both teenagers sustained minor injuries. They were evaluated by emergency medical personnel as part of standard post-collision procedures.
CHP Fatal logs indicate multiple emergency responses, including medical personnel, fire crews, and the coroner, as investigators worked to document the scene and assist those involved. The crash remains under investigation.
Ongoing Investigations
Victims of traffic accidents and their families should be aware that authorities may fail to note or even misinterpret critical evidence at a crash site. One of the services that a Personal Injury Attorney can provide is to pursue follow-up investigations, which can reveal additional evidence to correct any errors made by previous investigators.
Wrongful Death Claims
Losing a loved one in a traffic accident is devastating, and the pain can be made worse by the financial strain that often follows. Medical bills, funeral costs, and the loss of income to support dependents of the deceased can leave families struggling. Filing a Wrongful Death claim against those responsible can provide compensation to help with these expenses.
