Rio Vista, CA. – On the afternoon of Monday, December 15, 2025, a collision involving a semi-truck and a Cadillac resulted in the death of the Cadillac driver, according to KCRA.
The CHP reports that the accident took place just before 4:00 PM on Highway 12, east of Jackson Slough Road.
Authorities said the crash occurred when the Cadillac and the semi-truck collided, causing the Cadillac driver to be pronounced dead at the scene. The impact of the collision also sent the semi-truck off the road and down an embankment.
Officials reported that the semi-truck driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Photographs from the River Delta Fire District showed the semi overturned with significant front-end damage and bales of hay scattered alongside the roadway.
The roadway was closed in both directions along Highway 12 at Highway 160 for more than five hours while crews cleared the scene. This is an ongoing investigation.
Wrongful Death Claims
Losing a loved one in a traffic accident is devastating, and the pain can be made worse by the financial strain that often follows. Medical bills, funeral costs, and the loss of income to support dependents of the deceased can leave families struggling. Filing a Wrongful Death claim against those responsible can provide compensation to help with these expenses.
