Davis, CA – On the morning of Wednesday, December 10, 2025, a workplace collision involving two dump trucks resulted in one person losing their life after being crushed inside a vehicle, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 7:20 AM at 44090 County Road 28H.
Emergency responders found that one dump truck had come to rest on top of another, trapping the occupant of the lower vehicle beneath the weight of the impact. The force of the collision caused catastrophic crushing injuries, and despite rapid coordination between Davis Fire Department crews and incoming support units, the victim could not be saved.
Fire personnel began planning an extraction while awaiting additional resources, and CAL-OSHA was notified and deployed agents to assess the scene due to the severity of the workplace injuries. Officials continued to communicate about arrival times and investigative needs as they worked to secure the area.
