West San Carlos St Crash Kills Pedestrian in San Jose

San Jose, CA – In the early hours of Friday, November 14, 2025, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and later lost his life at a hospital, according to Bay City News.

The San Jose Police Department reports that the accident took place around 1:40 AM in the 600 block of West San Carlos Street.

Officers said the man was hit by a vehicle and suffered severe injuries that required immediate transport to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with responding authorities.

The collision prompted a closure of West San Carlos Street in both directions between McEvoy Street and Royal Avenue while investigators examined the scene.

Police advised motorists to avoid the area and use alternative routes until the roadway was fully cleared. This is an ongoing investigation.

Pedestrian Fatalities and Wrongful Death Claims

Drivers have a Duty of Care towards pedestrians, which includes being vigilant for those travelling by foot and, if a collision occurs, staying with the victim, alerting emergency responders, and cooperating with authorities investigating the crash.

For those who lose a loved one in a pedestrian accident, filing a Wrongful Death claim with the assistance of an experienced attorney can provide compensation for medical bills, funeral costs, and other related damages.
