October 25, 2025, Bakersfield, CA: Early Saturday morning, one person was killed in a fatal bicycle accident in Bakersfield.
The accident, according to KGET, happened at 3:42 a.m. on Union Avenue just south of Fairview Road. Police confirmed that a man was riding a bicycle headed southbound. At the same time, a 32-year-old woman was driving a Nissan Altima in the number two lane. The driver approached the bicyclist from behind when she noticed he was taking an evasive action. She was unable to stop in time, causing her to slam into the bicyclist.
The cyclist was tragically pronounced dead on scene as a result of his injuries. The driver was not hurt but stayed on scene to cooperate with police.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the collision continues.
