October 22, 2025, Merced, CA: On Wednesday evening, a student was critically in a pedestrian accident in Merced.
According to ABC30, the accident happened at 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Yosemite Avenue and Lake Road. Police confirmed that a student was on an E-scooter in the area when they were suddenly struck by a vehicle as they crossed the intersection. The driver remained on scene after the accident.
Paramedics and other emergency responders were present at the scene following the collision. The pedestrian, identified as an 18-year-old student at UC Merced, sustained critical injuries. They were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
