October 19, 2025, Richgrove, CA: One person lost their life in a fatal two-vehicle accident in Richgrove on Sunday afternoon.
According to Visalia Stringer, the accident happened at 1:46 p.m. on Avenue 8 around the area of Road 208. Police confirmed that an 18-year-old man was driving his Chevrolet Traverse westbound on Avenue 8. At the same time, a 52-year-old woman was driving a Nissan Versa eastbound on Avenue 208. The driver of the Chevrolet suddenly traveled into the eastbound lane of traffic, causing the two vehicles to collide. The accident was a severe head-on collision.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene to assist. The driver of the Nissan was tragically pronounced dead on scene as a result of her injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet suffered minor injuries.
The 18-year-old is now facing manslaughter charges, as well as charges for driving without a license.
No further details have been released but CHP Porterville continues its investigation into the accident at this time.
