September 4, 2025, Monterey, CA: A worker was injured in a pedestrian accident that took place on a major roadway in Monterey on Thursday.
The accident, according to California Highway Patrol, occurred at 1:13 p.m. in the northbound lanes of SR-1 near mile marker 57.8. Police confirmed that a Caltrans worker was working on the road in the area when they were suddenly struck by the driver of a vehicle. It is believed that driver remained on scene following the accident.
The worker was conscious and breathing when emergency responders arrived. They sustained an arm injury and were transported to the hospital for treatment.
