August 25, 2025, Clovis, CA: A fatal big rig accident took the life of one victim in Clovis on Monday afternoon.
According to information provided by Your Central Valley, the collision happened at 1:15 p.m. at the intersection of North Avenue and Temperance Avenue. Police confirmed that an Elantra was headed west on North and approaching the intersection with Temperance. At the same time, a Freightliner truck was headed east on North toward the same intersection. The driver of the Hyundai made a left turn, which is when the big rig and the vehicle collided. Both vehicles were forced off the side of the road and into an orange orchard.
The driver of the Hyundai, identified as 45-year-old Diego Gutierrez Mogollan, was tragically pronounced dead on scene as a result of his injuries. The driver of the big rig was not hurt.
No further details have been released at this time. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
