Oildale, CA – On the evening of Sunday, August 17, 2025, a vehicle collision left Adam Clayton Guthrie, 42, with critical injuries that later proved fatal, according to KBAK.

The Kern County Coroner’s Office reports that the accident took place around 8:47 PM at North Chester Avenue and Roberts Lane.

Authorities said a vehicle struck Guthrie while he was in the roadway. Emergency medical personnel transported him to Kern Medical with life-threatening injuries. Despite days of treatment, Guthrie succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, August 20.

Law enforcement officers secured the intersection and began their investigation shortly after the collision. The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

The Kern County Coroner’s Office formally identified Guthrie following his death and confirmed the timeline of events leading from the crash to his passing.
