Modesto, CA – In the early morning hours of Friday, August 1, 2025, a 25-year-old man from Delhi was killed in a motorcycle crash on Albers Road just north of Dusty Lane, according to The Modesto Bee, with additional reporting from CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred around 5:11 AM. A 2001 Honda Accord, driven by a 26-year-old man from Modesto, was slowing to make a left turn into a private driveway. Behind the Honda, four other vehicles were also slowing due to traffic conditions.
At that time, the rider of a 2011 Suzuki motorcycle attempted to pass the slower-moving vehicles by entering the southbound lane. As the Honda began its left turn, the motorcycle collided with the rear driver-side door of the car. The impact caused the motorcyclist to be ejected from the vehicle, landing on the west shoulder of the roadway.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene, but the rider was pronounced dead on-site. Officials confirmed that both the motorcyclist and the Honda driver were using proper safety equipment.
Authorities say that drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the collision. The name of the deceased motorcyclist has not been released, pending the notification of next of kin.
The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, which has urged drivers to maintain safe speeds and following distances while traveling on public roads.
Wrongful Death Claims
Even if a fatal accident doesn’t lead to criminal charges, families who lose a loved one can still file a Wrongful Death claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance. This can provide support to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income.
