July 10, 2025, Bakersfield, CA: On Thursday evening, an accident involving a big rig took place at an intersection in Bakersfield and led to injuries.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 6:41 p.m. at the intersection of Di Giorgio Road and Cottonwood Road. Police confirmed that a red pickup truck and a big rig with a trailer attached to it were involved in a collision in the middle of the intersection due to reasons that are still being investigated.
At least one person was injured in the accident. The injured party was hospitalized, but their current condition is not known at this time.
Police worked to move the damaged vehicles and clear the scene so traffic could resume as normal around the area of the intersection.
No further details have been released but CHP continues its investigation at this time.
