Avery Roxanne Millerick, 19, Killed in Big Rig Crash at West Grayson, Shiloh Rd near Camp Taylor

Grayson, CA – On the late morning of Saturday, June 21, 2025, a two-vehicle collision involving a big rig caused fatal injuries to Avery Roxanne Millerick, 19, of Modesto, according to The Modesto Bee, with additional reporting from CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred around 11:10 AM at the intersection of West Grayson Road and Shiloh Road, near the entrance to Camp Taylor.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found a black Kia sedan and a big rig with significant damage.

Reports indicate that Millerick was driving a Kia sedan northbound on the private driveway of Camp Taylor and attempted to enter West Grayson Road.

As she pulled into the intersection at Shiloh Road, her vehicle was struck broadside by an eastbound International tractor-trailer. CHP investigators determined that the big rig driver, a man from Merced, was traveling within the posted speed limit.

Millerick was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.

Camp Taylor, a nonprofit camp for children with heart disease, later confirmed Millerick’s identity and announced a candlelight vigil would be held in her honor.

The roadway remained closed for several hours as officers conducted an investigation and coordinated the removal of the damaged vehicles.

CHP continues to investigate the incident and has not indicated that drugs or alcohol were factors. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact local authorities.
