Pedestrian Bystanders Injured in North Chester, Lincoln Ave Crash after Police Chase in Oildale

Oildale, CA – On the night of Saturday, June 14, 2025, a slow-speed pursuit in Oildale ended with two pedestrians being struck and hospitalized, according to KBAK.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident began around 9:11 PM when a deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle due to an equipment violation and suspicion that the vehicle was stolen. The driver failed to yield, leading deputies on a slow-speed pursuit through the Oildale area at approximately 15 MPH.

The suspect eventually turned southbound into an alley west of North Chester Avenue, then eastbound just south of Lincoln Avenue, where the vehicle struck two pedestrians walking in the alley. The impact left both individuals trapped beneath the car as the suspect fled on foot.

A deputy apprehended the suspect nearby while additional units arrived and lifted the vehicle to rescue the two victims. Both pedestrians suffered moderate to major injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was taken into custody and faces charges including felony hit-and-run, evading arrest, and resisting an officer. The investigation is ongoing.

Personal Injury Claims

When the actions of reckless drivers cause others to be injured, the cost of recovery should not fall on their victims. Filing a Personal Injury Claim with the at-fault party’s insurance can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
