May 30, 2025, Santa Maria, CA: One person was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident in Santa Maria on Friday afternoon.
According to information provided by KSBY, the collision took place around 3:45 p.m. on Betteravia Road near the area of Target. A driver was traveling in the area when they suddenly crashed their vehicle, striking a pedestrian who was walking on the sidewalk. The driver remained on scene after the crash.
The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was critically injured in the accident. They were rushed to the hospital and have been deemed ‘fighting for their life.’ Nobody else was hurt in the accident.
The road was blocked until after 5:30 p.m. as police spoke with the involved driver.
