May 19, 2025, Shafter, CA: A fatal motorcycle accident took the life of one victim at a Shafter intersection early Monday morning.
According to information provided by Bakersfield Now, the accident happened at 3:47 a.m. at the intersection of Central Valley Highway and Burbank Street. Police confirmed that a driver was traveling south on Central in a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck while a motorcyclist was traveling east on Burbank on a 2025 Honda.
When the motorcyclist came to the intersection, they pulled through and were involved in a collision with the Chevrolet. The motorcyclist was struck by the left side of the Chevrolet and the rider was immediately ejected onto the road.
The motorcyclist was tragically pronounced dead on scene as a result of traumatic injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was not hurt.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
