May 15, 2025, Visalia, CA: An officer was involved in a collision that took the life of a pedestrian at a Visalia intersection on Wednesday night.
According to information provided by the Visalia Stringer Facebook page, the collision happened around 9:10 p.m. at the intersection of Houston Avenue and Rinaldi Street. An on-duty Visalia Police officer was operating a marked patrol vehicle when they suddenly struck a pedestrian who was walking on the road.
The pedestrian was severely injured and was rushed to Kaweah Health Medical Center for treatment. Medical staff tried to use life-saving treatments but they were unable to, and the pedestrian was tragically pronounced deceased while there.
Visalia Police Department and California Highway Patrol is working on the investigation into the collision at this time.
